HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05081984 - 2.2 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on May 8, 1984 , by the following vote': AYES: Supervisors Powers, Fanden, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Introduction of Revised Ordinance Regulating Alarm Systems and False Alarms The Board on April 17, 1984 deferred action on the proposed ordinance regulating alarm systems and false alarms in order to afford staff of the fire protection districts, Sheriff-Coroner and County Counsel opportunity to review said ordinance. In an April 24, 1984 memorandum County Counsel transmitted the revised ordinance noting several changes in the ordinance with respect to the definition of "alarm systems" and a requirement that requires alarms to be equipped so as to turn off 20 minutes after being activated. In its discussion of the ordinance it was brought to the attention of the Board that requests have been received from represen- tatives of the industry for a postponement of the introduction of the ordinance pending their review. Board members considered the requests and were in agreement to introduce the ordinance this day but to defer adoption of same to May 22, 1984 so that it may be further studied.
