THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on May 1, 1984 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers , Fanden, Schroder, Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor 'McPeak ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Petition to Abandon Arthur Road Access to Acme Dump The Board on April 24 , 1984 received a petition signed by approximately eight residents of the Vine Hill area of Martinez requesting correction of traffic problems on Arthur Road; IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that -the aforesaid petition is REFERRED to the Public Works Director for investigation and report. 1 hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown. Tam, Chair, Chapter Solid Waste Subcommittee, San Francisco Bay Chapter Sierra Club, 6014 College Avenue, Oakland 94618 , commenting on costs of hauling municipal solid- waste to Acme Landfill in Martinez and proposing several alternatives to reduce costs . Sanford M. Skaggs , Attorney, the Law Firm of Van Voorhis & Skaggs , Post Office Box V, Walnut Creek 94596-1270 , commented on efforts of his client, Acme Fill Corporation, to obtain the necessary permits to expand its landfill onto an adjacent 97 . 6 acres, the action of the Regional Water Quality Control Board in approving Acme ' s application, the decision of the San Francisco Bay Conservation Development Commission (BCDC) denying Acme ' s application and the challenging of that decision by Acme, and the attempt by collectors to preserve the remaining capacity of the. existing landfill by diverting as much garbage as feasible to the West County landfill site and the increased costs thereto. IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the aforesaid letters are REFERRED to the Solid Waste Commission and the Public Works Director for analysis and report to the Board. 1 hereby certify that this Is a true and correctcopy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervlcors on the date shown.
