HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05011984 - 1.13 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF .CALIFORNIA Adopted this Resolution on May 1, 1984, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers , Fanden, Schroder, Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor McPeak Authorizing Corrective ) Measures to- Reduce Electrical Loads on ) 1200 Amp Main Circuit ) Breaker at Hospital, Martinez Area (WPE272) RESOLUTION NO. 84/255 The Public Works Director having reported that electrical loads on the 1200 amp main circuit breaker in the lower generator room at the hospital have been monitored and found to be excessive; and I That power for parts of the hospital will be in jeopardy during the summer months, when air conditioning is used; and That temporary corrective measures have been reviewed with Nu-Med personnel, who concur with the findings and recommendations of the Public Works. Director; and That the estimated cost of the corrective work is less than $40,000; and That corrective measures cannot be accomplished before the summer months through the usual formal bidding and contract award procedures; and The Public Works Director having recommended that the Board find that an emergency exists and that he be directed to proceed in the most expeditious manner, pursuant to Section 20134 of the Public Contract Code, to correct the potential electrical power summer overload problem and the requirements of Government Code Section 4200 be waived; IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the recommendations of the Public Works Director are approved and that thisBoard makes the following findings: 1. that the work begin immediately in order to maintain continuance of Hospital operation; 2. the project is necessary to avoid danger to life and property. 1 fwreby oartify that this M a true and correct OM of an action taken and entered on the mMvtes of the Board of Supervisors or.ttty date shown.
