HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04031984 - X.9 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on April 3 , 1984 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: None SUBJECT: Presentation by Jerry Ajlouny, City of San Ramon, with respect to Absentee Ballots . Jerry Ajlouny , Councilman, City of San Ramon, having appeared and requested that the Board promote a greater use of absentee ballots in the June primaries to cut down on long lines at the polling places ; and Supervisor Fanden having spoke in support of the proposal made by Jerry Ajlouny; and Supervisor Schroder having stated that in his opinion the absentee ballot was a proper vehicle to be used in cases where individuals were not able to cast their vote at the polls; Supervisor Torlakson having stated that this was an informal item and that in his opinion it should be referred to the County Election Department to determine the cost of the proposal; Board members having discussed the matter, IT IS ORDERED that the proposed matter is REFERRED to the County Election Department to determine the cost of sending out absentee ballots .
