HomeMy WebLinkAboutAGENDA - 05191987 - S.5 5� THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on May 19, 1987 , by the following vote: AYES; Supervisors Powers, Fanden, Schroder, Torlakson, McPeak NOES; None ABSENT; None ABSTAIN; None SUBJECT; MIA Sales Tax Transfer Proposal Phil Batchelor, County Administrator, commented on the State MIA disengagement proposal, and noted that the Governor has proposed the inclusion of AB 8 programs in the sales tax transfer proposal. Mark Finucane, Health Services Director, advised that in his opinion the MIA disengagement proposal should be supported only with amendments calling for re-examination after 2 years, and that the inclusion of the AB 8 programs would be a mistake. He stated that there would be a County Supervisors of California (CSAC) Executive Committee meeting on May 22, 1987, amd that CSAC had requested that the Board take a position on the MIA disengagement proposal. The Board hereby FINDS, by at least a 2/3 vote of the Board, that the need to take action on this request arose after the Board' s agenda was posted, as specified in Government Code section 54954. 2 (a) . As recommended by Mr. Finucane, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that a position is ADOPTED opposing the proposed inclusion of AB 8 programs in the MIA sales tax transfer proposal. cc: County Administrator Health Services Director I herebycertify that this is a true and correct co of Y copy of action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
