DETERMINATION ITEMS (Staff recommendation shown following the item. ) 2. 1 LETTER from Acting Executive Director, Alameda-Contra Costa Health Systems Agency (HSA) , advising that the time has come to appoint a new Governing Board for HSA and listing nominees sub- mitted for the various categories. CONSIDER ACTION TO BE TAKEN 2. 2 LETTER from County Administrator transmitting copy of study entitled "Site Feasiblity Study to Determine Possible Location of a Regional County Government Center to Serve Eastern Contra Costa County" and recommending that study be accepted and referred to the Finance Committee. APPROVE RECOMMENDATION 2. 3 REPORT from County Administrator, in response to Board referral of March 22, 1983, recommending that State of California Bureau of Collections and Investigation be allowed to license Protection Dog Operators as provided by state legislation and that the Board take no action at this time, thereby allowing the State to so license Protection Dog Operators. APPROVE RECOMMENDATION -8- (5-3-83) 2. 4 COMMUNICATION from County Administrator, in response to Board referral of March 22, 1983, recommending that the Board support SB 1070 (Lockyer) which would designate up to five pilot project counties to test the effectiveness of having a human services commission prepare and recommend to the board of supervisors the allocation of specified health and welfare federal block grant funds; in connection therewith authorize the County Administrator to indicate to the State Contra Costa County' s interest in being designated a pilot county pursuant to SB 1070. TIMED ITEMS 1. REFERRED bid for provision of weed abatement services for the West County Fire Protection District to the Fire Chief and the County Administrator. Later in the day the Board received the recommendation of the Fire Chief and AWARDED the contract to C & I Enterprises. 2. APPROVED application of Sonia J.
