oppose provisions in AA 2361 and SB 1326 which would revise
the California Children' s Service financial eligibility and
maximum family obligation by potentially increasing the
liability of low-income families and decreasing the liability
of higher income families; letter also recommends that the
existing restriction of eligibility and maximum family obliga-
tion be suspended for the 1982-1983 fiscal year in order to
provide the County with needed flexibility to increase revenue

Director of Emergency Services , letter from State Office of Emergency
Services re request of Governor Brown for declaration of certain counties
as mayor disaster areas resulting from the March 30 through April 5 storm,
Health Services Director for recommendation, communication from State
Dept of Health Services announcing availability of AB 8 "SNAP" funds, and
to report on the extent the proposed funding mechanism for completion of
the Cancer Study will impact on the county' s ability to get other SNAP
funding and a full review of the methodology and analysis to date, together
with a timetable for completion of said study Chair agreed to send a
letter to Assemblyman Bob Campbell thanking him for his efforts to obtain
State funds for completion of the Cancer study,
Finance Committee (Supervisors Powers and Fanden) and County Adminis-
trator , issue of financial problems and alternatives for the Central
City Plaza Project to be considered at 8 00 a m on Monday, June 28,
County Administrator and Auditor-Controller , memoranaum from CCC
Employees ' Retirement Assn re actions taken by the Retirement Board as a
result of actuarial review and report dated Jan 1 , 1982
Authorized Chair to urge State to fund programs for Developmentally
Disabled at the George Miller Centers , and to urge the County Supt of
Schools to assume that Dept 's financial obligation for said programs
Adopted position in opposition to further amendments to SB 341
Acknowledged receipt of a certificate of appreciation for Probation
Dept Juvenile Community Services Program presented by Howard Jennings
of Las Trampas School for the Handicapped
Closed hearing and deferred to June 29 decision on proposed Vacation
No 1893 of a portion of Remington Dr , Danville
Opposed provisions in AB 2361 and SB 1326 which would revise the Calif
Children's Service financial eligibility and maximum family obligation and
suspended for FY 1982-83 the existing restriction of eligibility and
maximum family obligation
Concurred in the concerns expressed by the Emergency Medical Services
Director and the Emergency Medical Care Committee and authorized the
County Administrator to forward the Board ' s position to the CHP
Approved merging the ad hoc committee on gas release at Chevron
Refinery with the County Hazardous Material Planning and Advisory Committee
for ongoing evaluation
Approved recommendation of the Internal Operations Committee
(Supervisors Torlakson and Schroder) re a workshop and presentation by CCC
Horsemen's Association
Accepted report of the Recycling Committee (Supervisors Fanden and
Torlakson) and directed that a letter of thanks be sent to Mr Bart Bisio,
Martinez Sanitary Service, offering assistance in the development of a
process for curbside collection of recyclables in the City of Martinez
