RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING RESOLUTION NO. 2008/133
THE HONORABLE TED URBAN
AS CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS, Ted started his community service in the early.1970's when he became involved with the
Orinda Association; he served as Chair and also on the early Planning Committee; and
WHEREAS; Ted was part of the General Plan Committee when the City of Orinda was formed and
has served on the Design Review Board and the Planning Commission longer than anyone else has
ever served in Orinda; and
WHEREAS, as a practicing architect and developer, Ted has selflessly used his.strong sense of
intelligent and tasteful design to significantly enhance the quality of life in Orinda; and
WHEREAS, Ted's recent contribution in the establishment of the public sculpture program
demonstrates how his devotion to the community and his love of art have coalesced to create unique
additions to Orinda's public space; and
WHEREAS, Ted inspires others in the community to give generously of their time and talent to public
affairs as he has done:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT resolved tf at;the' Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does
