HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 12192006 - 06-821 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on �,�(,��,vl-rte /GI, , by the following vote: AYES:T, T NOES: ABSENT: , ABSTAIN: No �i If�tiQ' ��A�' ✓Ct�. �� SUBJECT: Lump sum Payment for Unrepresented ) RESOLUTION NO. 2006/'Ra/ Management Nursing Classifications THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in its capacity as governing Board of the County of Contra Costa and all districts of which it is ex-officio governing Board RESOLVES THAT: WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution #2006/609 providing wage increases for unrepresented nursing management classifications in lieu of any general salary increases that may be granted for unrepresented management employees as follows: October 1, 2006 7% increase in base rate of pay (includes 3% of 10-05 and 4% of 9-06) September 1, 2007 5% increase in base rate of pay WHEREAS the 3% increase in base pay effective October 1, 2005 and the 4% increase in base pay effective September 1, 2006 was not paid retroactively; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that for employees in job classifications listed in Attachment A, in lieu of a retroactive pay calculation requiring special payroll processing back to October 1, 2005, the County will make a lump sum payment to each eligible employee, without back interest, for the months of October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006 computed as follows: Employees regular pay, hourly based earnings including overtime pay and other earnings computed as a percentage of base pay will be added together for each applicable pay period to determine appropriate pay base. For the period October 1, 2005 through August 31, 2006, the base pay will be increases by three percent (3%). For the period September 1, 2006 through September 30, 2006 the base pay will be increased by seven percent (7%) (Three percent plus four percent for the month of September 2006 only). The payment amount thus computed will be added to the employee's February 10, 2007 paycheck where it will be listed as "LUMP SUM PAY" and will be subject to required deductions such as taxes and retirement. Any employee believing there is an underpayment resulting from this methodology exceeding fifty dollars ($50.00), may contact their Department personnel officer. The Auditor-Controller's office will investigate and issue the additional pay, if owed, as soon as possible.
