HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012005 - 2005-498 i IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 2005/498 HONORING THE RETIREMENT OF OFFICER CLIFF KROEGER WHEREAS, Officer Cliff Kroeger began service to the California Highway Patrol on April 25,1968,after having entered the California Highway Patrol Academy on January 3, 1968;and WHEREAS, Upon graduation from the Academy,Officer Kroeger was assigned to the Oakland Area Office as a traffic officer on April 25, 1968;and WHEREAS,After serving for approximately ft ur years irt;Oaklandy Officer Kroeger voluntarily' transferred to the:C6ntra Costa Area Office on March 30, 1972;and WHEREAS, During his first years in Contra Costa County, Officer Krueger spent most of his time on road patrol in both the East and Central portions of the County and subsequently developed and served as the Area's first Pelony follow-up officer in 1981;and WHEREAS, Officer Kroeger also served as the Contra Costa Areas,collision itivestigation expert, reviewing feports and assisting with the investigative procedures f f iiajcir collisi ns within the County. He returned to road patrol in 1990 and then retu erl to s�� t€�tlie';Public Affairs Officer in 1992 ;.and WHEREAS,While 8'ervi`ig as tie.urea's Public Affairs Officer;Cliff has touched the lives;of thousands of citizens,young;ancl old, throughout the community. Ede lias ecet red nubierous'letters of recognition from organizations,groups and schools who have all'p t his Medicated work;and WHEREAS, bffieer Kroeger helped form the State kofite 4 Ta k V'tA ce and the Va ca Road Safety Task Ford to address the.traffic safety,concerns ongatrioi well as Stag Route 4, and helped to reduce the nuiiber olitijti `aceidents by° 2 percent. ' NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Ctfsta Coutily Board of Supervisors hereby honors Officer Cliff©rd `°Cliff .Kroeger for over 37years of 3'71 years to the California Highway Patrol and to the residents of Contra Costa County. It is fitting that on the occasion of his retirement,we recognize the lasting contriliutiori that Officef ksoeger made which will not be forgotten by all of those who have had the privilege to work with hiin.
