BAC'§purpose is to nurture art appreciation in the community through involvement in the arts via Art Gallery exhibitions and opeungs at the Brentwood Education and Technology Center,to plan and execute public art projects through the recently adapted Percent For,Art program,and to plan and hostA Day In The Park Art and Wine Festival,among other projects and.activities,:and WHEREAS EA S The-Brentwood Arts Commission members Ron l Batty,The ress Linda Crawford,Joan Libbey,Tim Mcl amee,Ricki Mountain,Kati Short,t Main Short,I tilna'Sn tt,den' `o lin,Jeanne Wallen, and Tommy wernholtn are pa cPassa ipating in Art ges D;h*t Ill Exld Mil z; ESV ' t OD ARTS CO.NfiMISS`1ON• rh Flr� i i is ement in East Contra `costa;County;and WHEREAS,renowned artist Stanley.Mouse has had a career;s anrun eneratians and' enres beginning P g g with his popular hot rod t-shirts during his youth in Detroit to his tack concertosters in San Francisco,to some of the most recogniizable rock band album cover artwrrk it the world,tons fine art in New Mexico and Sebastapol;and WHEREAS,Brentwood mural artist Bill Weber has created:indoor and outdoir murals, including the famous North Beach.tnural'an the corner of Broadway and Columbus in San Francrseo,and has curated exhibitions throughout Contra Costar County for the Brentwood-Arts Commission Art Gallery among others, NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT.RESOLVED THAT the:13*d of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby declare that the above artists and arts organizatlods treasures of our county and region, and urges residents to continue to support the artistic and creative endeavors of these individuals and organizations.
