HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012004 - 2004-203 t 64�'� W /ted (e2 In the Matter of Proclaiming May 100 through May ld�, 2004 as DisaJi&tyAvareness Week In Contra Costa County RESOI LHON NO. 20041203: HWEREAS, one in five Americans has some form of disability; and WHEREAS, one in twelve children is born with a mental or physical disability; and WHEREAS, Easter Seals Bay Area now provides critical early intervention therapies for infants and toddlers, who are born with a disability or developmental delay; and [WHEREAS, Easter;weals Bay Area ensures that families of children with disabilities receive peace of mind knowing that their children are receiving the best educational and therapeutic care available; and WFIEREAS Easter Seals Bay Area enables adults with disabilities to maximize their independence, regain mobility, and reduce pain; and UWEREAS, Easter Seals Bay Area, with offices throughout seven counties of the Bay Area, has been serving children and adults with disabilities since 1927; and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County is committed to recognizing the special needs of people with disabilities, and to supporting organizations that provide direct programs and service; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby proclaim May I& through May I6`h, 2004 as Disability Awareness Week in Contra Costa County.
