RESOLUTION HONORING RESOLUTION NO. 2004/15
RICHARD S. LUJAN FOR RECEIVING
THE ELIZABETH B. WELLS MEMORIAL
AWARD FOR 2003 NATIONAL ASSOCIATION
OF HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT OFFICIALS,
WHEREAS, Advisory Housing Commissioner Richard S. Lujan was awarded the distinguished Elizabeth B.
Wells Memorial Award for 2003 from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials
honoring him as the Commissioner who has demonstrated excellence in advocatingfor the expansion of
housing programs; and
WHEREAS, Richard S. Lujan has served, and continues to serve as an Advisory Housing Commissioner for
the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa for over seventeen years; and,
WHEREAS,Richard S. Lujan currently serves on the National Commissioners Committee of the National
Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Lujan has tirelessly advocated for housing and health care for all sectors of the
economic spectrum and has promoted the development of minority and women owned businesses; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Lujan has elevated the mission and public awareness of Contra Costa County 1
Housing Authority's efforts to provide high quality and creative affordable housing i solutions that serve the
needs of low-income'families in Contra Costa County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County hereby
recognizes and honors Advisory Housing Commissioner
For receiving the Elizabeth B. ells Memorial Award
PASSED by a unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors this 13'hday of January,2004.
