u7RE`pEEAS, our families, communities, nation and world have increasingly suffered from violence in recent
times; and,
UWE"REAS, the work of individuals and agencies who promote peace and nonviolence is of paramount
importance in improving life for all people; and,
alth, and
' ,, the Center for Hum n Development has devoted itself to promoting the he '
harmony of individuals,families and communities in Contra Costa County since 1972; and,
�MERF,4S, the Center for Human .Development's Conflict Resolution Panels are recognizing those who
have made a significant contribution to promoting peace in our County at their I0'4 Annual Peacemakers
Awards Dinner on March 25, 2004; and,
UWEREAS, the seven recipients of this year's Peacemaker Awards are outstanding representatives of a much
larger community of committed individuals and groups who strive to promote peaceful communities;

y EREFO.RE, BE IT RESOLVWD, that Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does
hereby proclaim March 25, 2004 as Peacemakers Day in Contra Costa County.
