Trails Council Recommendation
on Mechanical Park Development. �
WHEREAS this Board has received a copy of Resolution
No. ? adopted. by the East Bay Area Trails Council on ani ark 2,6,,
-s'9 1 in which resolution said Council urges the East Bay Regional
Park District to develop mechanical Psrk areas for <motorcy-v ie
riders; and
n?REREAS this Board is cognizant of the need to acquire
and develop areas such as those recommended by the East Bay Area
Trails Council_; and
,13EREAS this Board is also aware that. there is a pressing
demand for open: space and recreational areas of a variety of types
for the pleasure and, health and welfare of the residents of Alameda
and Contra Costa Counties end
t-,r4EREAS this Board is further aware that financing. based
upon property tai; Levies is a serious problem to the East Bay
FeSional Park District ,just as it is to other local governments
:having s dependency ,upon property tax revenues to provide the
facilities and the services desired by the general. public;

COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA , CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it recognizes the
need for the acquisition and development of mechanical pari areas,
that it urges the East' Bay Regional Perk District to Include such
facilities in its regional plans for open space and parks, and that
it also urges that mechanical parks be given such priority as is
feasible, taking into account the meed for other types of facil-
ities and the means of financing the acquisition, development and
operation of them,.
