for Hospital Extended Care }
Services . }
}
WHEREAS this Board has received a copy of Resolution
Number 21-71 adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of El Dorado, California at its regular meeting on February 2,
1971; and
WHEREAS in said resolution said Board vigorously
opposes the proposed regulation which would limit payment for
hospital extended care services under the Medic-Cal program, to
the maximum rates payable for nursing home care services; and
WHEREAS in said resolution said Board points out that
the proposed regulation limiting payments for hospital extended
care services would result in a cast shift to the already over--
burdened property tax; and
WHEREAS a similar situation would prevail in Contra Costa
County as a result of the adoption of the proposed regulation
except that the cost shift would be in greater proportions; and
WHEREAS the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors urges
that no action be taken to implement aforesaid proposed regula-
tion; and
WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Contra Costa is in agreement with the position taken by the
El Dorado County Board. of Supervisors;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVED that it urges the abandonment of the
proposal to limit payment for hospital extended care services
and urges Governor Ronald Reagan and the State Department of
Health Care Services to refrain from the implementation of
aforesaid proposal; and
BE IT BY THE BOARD FURTHER RESOLVED that it also urges
its representatives in the California State Legislature to
support the position taken on said matter by this Board of
Supervisors .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of March, 1971 by the
following vote :
AYES. Supervisors A. M. Dias, J . E. Moriarty,
W. N. Boggess, E. A. Linscheid, J . P . Kenny.
