In the Matter of Opposing
California Public Utilities
Corani.s'sion Permits for Radio RESOLUTION NUMBER 71/3
Telephone Paging Systems at
Vollmer Peak
WHEREAS the County Administrator on this date recom-
mended that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution opposing
the granting of permits for radio telephone_ paging systems tied
in with radia facilities located at Vollmer Peak; and:
WHEREAS the County Administrator so recommended to
ensure no interference with the primary public safety emergency
radio system of the county; and
WHEREAS Supervisor W. N. Boggess suggested that in
addition to the adoption of a resolution And to ensure that the
viewpoint of the county, would be comprehensively considered, it
would be desirable to have a county representative appear at
hearings held by said commission on said matter; and
WHEREAS the members of the Board having considered the
matter in further detail with respect to the appropriate county
representative, such as the Communications Engineer employed by
the Office of the County Sheriff and/oar the County Counsel or a
DeputyCounty Counsel; and
WHEREAS it was the consensus of opinion of the members
of the Board that the representative or representatives who
should' attend hearings on aforesaid matter might properly be
determined by consultation between the departments concerned;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that .it
OPPOSES the granting of permits for radio telephone Paging systems
at Vollmer Peak for the reason hereinabove cited and directs that
the county departments concerned. (Office of the County Sheriff,
Office of the County Counsel and Office of the County Administrator)
decide upon the representation required at California Public
Utilities Commission hearings on said matter.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this kith day of Januarys 1971, by the
following votes
AYES: Supervisors A . M. Dias, J. E. Moriarty,
W. N. Boggess, E. A. Linscheid, J. P. Kenny.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
