HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012003 - 2003-521 �i Fowl In the Matter of Honoring ) Operation Access ) for its ten years of service ) RESOLUTION NO, 20031521 WHEREAS Operation Access is a non profit organization that brings together Bay Area health care organizations and skilled medical volunteers to provide countless uninsured members in our county, as well as in the other five counties across the Bay Area, with free outpatient surgeries; and WHEREAS Operation Access fibs the gap in access to outpatient surgical services for the uninsured low. income population, including the working poor, part time workers, low-income immigrants and the unemployed; and WHEREAS during the past ten years Operation Access has served over 1,100 uninsured patients and saved local public health systems in excess of$4 million dollars; and WHEREAS Operation Access will mark the significant milestone of ten years of service with a major event on September 18 at the San Francisco Maritime Museum to further expand its visibility and extend private/public collaboration and to broaden its support base. NOWYHEREFORE, BEITRESOLVTED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County hereby congratulates Operation Access for its ten years of service to the people of our County and for the role they have played in easing the burden on public health systems in the Bay Area, and wishes them every success as they expand to meet the needs of an ever growing national health crisis.
