SUBJECT: ADOPT Resolution No. 2003/361 approving Notice of Intention to purchase real property
located between Port Chicago Highway and Norman Avenue for a trail and extension of
Essex and Middlesex Streets. [CP# 02-101]

The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
It intends to purchase from the Union Pacific Railroad Company, the real property described in
Exhibit"A" and shown on Exhibit "B" attached hereto, for a trail and extension of Essex and Middlesex
Streets for the amount of $52,225.00, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Letter of
Understanding Agreement between the County of Contra Costa and Union Pacific Railroad Company,
which is a fair and reasonable price therefor. A copy of said agreement is on file in the Public Works
Department.
This Board will meet on July 8, 2003,at 9:30 a.m. in the Board's Chambers,County Administration
Building, Martinez, California,to consummate this purchase, and the Clerk of this Board is DIRECTED to
publish the attached notice in the Contra Costa Times pursuant to Government Code Section 6063.
