HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012003 - 2003-253 ..Jhe oar o tapervijom o (fontpa (fo.4ta (founty, (falionic� In the Matter of Honoring Chief Assistant Public Defender,Bill Egan To Commemorate His Retirement RESOLUTION NO.2003/253 WHEREAS, Bill Egan was.born:in Walnut Creek and attended Contra Costa County schools for his secondary education; and WHEREAS, Bill Egan served in the United States Navy upon his graduation from the University of Washington, and WHEREAS,Bill Egan graduated from Boalt Hall Law School at the University of California at Berkel and WHEREAS,Bill Egan began his career as an attorney in the,Contra Costa County Office of the Public Defender iia June 11, 1975; and WHEREAS,Bill Egan has served as an attorney in every capacity.in the Office of the public Defender and provided representation to thousands of indigent defendants in the Courts of Contra Costa,County over east 26 ears; and g y Years WHEREAS,Bill E hs:s`contributed to the management team In the Department for man including res nstb1lity for,supervision and:oversight of the Special Defense Branch,within the Office of thezblic efen er`over the past five years;.and: WHEREAS,Bill Egan has handled some of the most serious cases in the Office-of the Public Defender anddone:so.with vigor and commitment in the most trying:circumstances a trial lawyer can confront;: . NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa acknowledges and thanks Bill Egan for his dedicated service to the Office of the Public Defender,the clients of that.Office and the people of this County on the occasion of his retirement as an employee of Contra Crista County...
