Whereas,West County Reads wad fraunded by the Community Alliance forPublic Education(CAPE)
in October 2001; '
Whereas, the mission af-West Cbu my Reads! is to ensure`that every chi'lc ' in wpssi Contra Costa
County is read to�b minutes eAc`&day and every child reads at grade level up'an eotnple#ion of third
grade; and
Whereas, reading,difficulty contributes to school failure, which increa tt?e risk of absenteeism,
school drop out,':juvenile delinquency,and substance abuse;and

Michael Anthony Impastato )
as County .Employee of the year 2002 ) RESOLU77ON NO. 2043/7
RWE.RBAAS, Michael Anthony Impastato, steadfastly served as a Contra Costa County Firefighter
for nearly 25 years as an engineer operating firefighting apparatus; and
4 WEREAS, Michael Anthony Impastato never sought public recognition or commendation for
performing arming an outstanding job, even when going above and beyond the required everyday chores, and
WHEREAS, Mt'chaelAnthony Impastato took on any task, no matter how daunting. When he saw
that something was wrong; he fixed it, and
UNERFAS, Michael Anthony Impastato represented his fellow firefighters with integrity and fervor
as the Vice President of the Firefighters Local 1234; and
4 EREAS, Michael Anthony Impastato was a warmhearted, spirited leader who truly believed in
his union and his fellow union brothers and sisters; and
UWEREAS Michael Anthony Impastato made Contra Costa County a truly safer place for us all
to live;
NOW, THEREFORE, .BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors does hereby honor
MchaelAnthonylmpastato for his many years of service and dedication to the people of Contra Costa
County by naming him County Employee of the Year 2442.
PASSER AND ADOPTED on January 7, 2443 by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
