HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012002 - 2002-584 qt) In the Matter of Resolution No. 200 RECOGNIZING BARBARA SCALES OF BAY POINT AS BEING NAMED THE FIRST RUNNER UP IN THE WAYTAG'S OUTSTANDING SOCCER MOM"SEARCH WHEREAS, Maytag held a nationwide search for "Maytag's Outstanding Soccer Mom"from June 11 through July 25, 2002; and WHEREAS, more than 1,600 nominations were sent from across the nation as kids, coaches, and parents from all walks of life recognized their dedicated soccer moms; and WHEREAS, Barbara Scoles of Bay Point was named First Runner Up at the Women's United:Soccer Association Founders Cup II title game on August 24, 2002 in Atlanta; and WHEREAS, Ms. Scoles was recognized for her ability to teach the game as a volunteer and high school coach and her commitment to coordinate youth clinics; and WHEREAS, Ms. Scoles holds five coaching licenses, officiates games, and helped establish high school and junior high teams at Berean Christian in Walnut Creek and has logged 140,000 miles in their family van; and WHEREAS, she has been blessed with two sons and one daughter(all of whom play soccer) who have received from their mother careful training that develops good citizens and worthy adults; and WHEREAS, Ms. Scoles has justly earned the respect, admiration, and high regard of all with whom she has come into contact. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County hereby extends this commendation to Barbara Scoles for her outstanding achievements and selfless commitment to her family, youth, and community, and its best wishes in her future endeavors.
