THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

SUBJECT: ADOPT Resolution No. 2002151.8 to consummate the purchase of real
property for the County Affordable Housing program, identified as 242
Portola Drive, and accept the Grant Deed from Jacqueline P. Read.
Somerset Homes Development (1596-3540). [CP2002-68]

The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, RESOLVES THAT:
This Board on August 13, 2002, passed Resolution of Intention No. 2002/494 and
Notice fixing September 10, 2002, at 9:30 A.M. in its Chambers, County Administration
Building, 651 Pine Street, Martinez, California, as the time and place where it would meet
to consummate the purchase of the real property described therein from Jacqueline P.
Read,for the purpose of maintaining affordability of homes in the Somerset Density Bonus
Program for affordable housing (Danville area). Said Resolution was duly published in the
Contra Costa Times in compliance with Govt. Code Section 6063.
The Board hereby exercises its option and consummates said purchase in
accordance with the terms and conditions of the "Buyers Purchase Agreement For
Affordable Units, Somerset Homes Development," recorded April 15,1994, by Instrument
Number 94-105286 at the Office of the County Recorder, for$385,837.00.
The County Auditor-Controller is hereby DIRECTED to issue a check in favor of Old
Republic Title Company, 3000 Clayton Road, Concord,CA 94519, Escrow No.356413,for
$385,837.00 for said property for payment to Grantors,upon their conveying to the County
a Deed therefor.

Said Deed is hereby ACCEPTED and the Real Property Division is ORDERED to
have it recorded, together with a certified copy of this resolution.
The Board hereby FINDS that the proposed acquisition will not have a significant
effect on the environment and that it has been determined to be exempt from the California
Environmental Quality Act under State CEQA guidelines Section 15061 (b)(3). This Board
DIRECTS the Director of'Community Development to file a Notice of Exemption with the
County Clerk and DIRECTS the Public Works Director to arrange for payment of a$25.00
handling fee to the County Clerk and a $25.00 fee to Community Development for
processing of the Notice of Exemption.
