HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012002 - 2002-416 .. gn419 off In the Matter of Declaring July 24, 2442 } Edward "Kelly"Anschutz Day } for his 35 years of dedicated service } to the workers of Contra Costa County ) RESOLUTION NO. 20021416' WhEREAS, Edward `XellyP"'Anschutz has worked tirelessly on behalf of all working people in Contra Costa County as a Business Manager of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 159;and 9,71EREAS, Kelly Anschutz was elected President of the Contra Costa Building and Construction Trades Council in 1996,and served in that capacity until his retirement;and 94MEAS, Kelly Anschutz led his Union, and organized labor as a whole, into new alliances with faith, environmental and progressive business leaders to promote new models of development that promote livable communities; and WILER,L",A$ under the leadership of IC+elly Anschut, the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 159 contributed significant financial and other resources to a number of community and nonprofit causes to the betterment of all Contra Costa County residents;and WIME0 KellyAnschuta, was born in Richmond, California, graduated from Kennedy High School and is a third generation member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 159 NOW, TIYER'EEOIE, BE IT'RE OLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby declares July 20", 2002 as "Edward "Kelly"Anschutz Day in Contra Costa County" in recognition of his service to Contra Costa County and to the 80,000 working families who belong to the AFLCI0 in Contra Costa County.
