For his Contributions to Contra Costa County ) RESOLUTION NO. 2002/160
WHEREAS, Stan Hansen, the only child of Julius and Sophia Hansen, and his parents moved
to Concord in 1930 from Oakland; and
WHEREAS, Stan Hansen,graduated from Mt. Diablo High School and still remains in contact
with many of the Class of '42 graduates. In his younger days Stan Hansen worked in the fruit
packing plants, later served in the Armed Services and went on to become a grading and paving
contractor; and
WW"EREAS, Stan Hansen, in the early 1970's designed and built the beautiful Brookview
Mobile Home Park, which is a model of the best in the industry, on Monument Boulevard, where
Stan Hansen and his wife, Janice reside. The park is situated on what was his parents' 25 acre
Walnut and Pear orchard; and
WHEREAS, Stan .Hansen, has been actively involved serving Contra Costa County and his
community with dedication and distinction, having served almost continuously for over twenty years
on the Contra Costa County Mobile Home Advisory Committee. He served on the Contra Costa
County Task Force to develop the County Mobile Home Rent Ordinance and was a former
Regional Director of the Western Mobilehome Association; and
WHEREAS, Stan Hansen, is a member of the Contra Costa County Historical Society, Contra
Costa County Farm Bureau, Iron Horse Corridor Advisory Committee, the Veterans Monument
Committee, the Concord Chamber of Commerce and the Concord Historical Society. Stan Hansen
is also a member of the Monument Business Association and was instrumental in promoting the
Day Labor Association on Monument Boulevard.
NOW,. THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors extends to Stanley
K. Hansen special recognition for his outstanding and unselfish lifetime of service for the
betterment of the people in Contra Costa County, including his mobile home efforts in providing
affordable housing, by declaring his birthday, March 25'` as Stanley K. Hansen Day with our
best wishes.
PASSED ,AND ADOPTED ON March 19, 2002, by a unanimous vote of the Board
members present.
