HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012002 - 2002-057 1 The Board of Supervisors r of Contra Costa County In the Matter of Resolution N0.2002157 RECOGNIZING THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PITTSBURG PRESCHOOL AND COMMUNITY COUNCIL IN PITTSBURG WHEREAS, the Pittsburg Preschool and Community Council, founded thirty years ago, has evolved from a small demonstration nursery school to a multi-facility organization offering more than thirty diverse programs to individuals, families, and youth; and WHEREAS, among the countless services rendered by the Pittsburg Preschool and Community Council are child care,preschool and after school programs; education and job training; family and youth services; health education and outreach; HIV education and support; and Columbia Park Manor Senior Housing to name a few programs that benefit the entire community; and r WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate that the citizens of this community recognize the Pittsburg Preschool and Community Council vital contributions to the area by providing outstanding programs for our families and our youth; and WHEREAS, the observance of this occasion provides the opportunity to extend the appreciation the community feels for the many valuable contributions made by the Pittsburg Preschool and Community Council; and WHEREAS, in honor of the 30th Anniversary there is planned a dinner to be held at the Sheraton Hotel on Saturday, March 23, 2002. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California, does hereby extend sincere congratulations to the Pittsburg Preschool and Community Council and urges all citizens to join with us in this expression of appreciation for the dedication to the welfare of individuals, families and youth over the years and to extend our best wishes on future endeavors.
