UWZREA,5 Jim Serventi, grew up in Concord with, eight siblings in a home on Bonifacio Street;
and
41HEREAS Jim Serventi attended Concord Elementary, Williams Elementary (which no longer
exists), Queen of All Saints and graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in 1955, and
HWEREAS, Jim Serventi left Concord to pursue a career in Air Force intelligence. He and his
wife Gayle returned to Concord in 1987 to be near family and special friends; and
U4 EREAS Jim Serventi became very active in the community and served on many committees
and panels including Concords Redevelopment Advisory Committee to upgrade Todos Santos Plaza: a
blue ribbon panel to consider a downtown theater, and the Mayor's panel for the new police station.
When Concord Naval Weapons Station was preparing for their 50t`anniversary he assisted in piecing
together history of the area before the Weapons Station acquired the land around Port Chicago; and
WHER AS Jinn Servend joined the Concord Historical Society and later served as treasurer. He
helped establish the History Resource Center on Sutter Street and served as acting director. He was
instrumental in the Society's efforts to collect artifacts, photographs and memorabilia that were
significant to the community. He narrated and produced a short video about Concord's history. He
was responsible for collecting items for the time capsule that is under the front door of the new Concord
Police Station; and
NOW THEREFOR& RETIRESOLVEDthat the Board of Supervisors does hereby thank Jun
Serventi with sincere appreciation to for giving so much of himself to promote and preserve awareness
of Concord's diverse history.
