HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012002 - 2002-007 In the Matter of Declaring ) May 12 through May 18, 2002 Senior CenterAwamness Week) RESOLUTION NO. 200217 WHEREAS older Americans are a valuable resource to our society; sharing their wisdom and experience to enhance the lives of all generations; and WHEREAS Senior Centers provide a wide array of services, programs, and activities which empower older citizens of Contra Costa to remain active and vital members of our community; and WHEREAS, Senior Centers offer wonder* recreational activities and extensive opportunities for seniors to interact with their peers; and HWERRA.S, Senior Center in Contra Costa County affirm the dignity and self-worth of older persons by creating an environment that promotes community, wellness, independence, fitness and life-long learning, and 4WEMS the Pleasant Hill Senior Center, the Concord Senior Center and the San Damon Senior Center will be joining Senior Centers throughout the State of California in participating in "Step Out for Senior Centers"celebration. .NOW THERER01M BE IT RWOL that the Board of Supervisors does hereby proclaim May 12 through May 18, 2002 as Senior CenterAww reness Week. And call upon all citizens to recognize the special contributions of Senior Center participants, and the special effort the staff and volunteers who work every day to enhance the well being of the older citizens of our community.
