HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012001 - 2001-77 P 3 The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County In the Matter of Resolution No, 2001/77 HONORING AND RECOGNIZING JAMAL BRYANT FOR HIS INTREGRITY WHEREAS, a robbery of a Wells Fargo bank in Pittsburg took place and hundreds of dollars were stolen; and WHEREAS, the perpetrators subsequently disposed of the stolen money in a vinyl bag next to the home of fourteen year old Jamal Bryant; and WHEREAS, Jamal Bryant found the money and immediately brought it to his mother, Frenchnette Bryant; and WHEREAS, Frenchnette and Jamal, an eighth grade student at Central Junior High in Pittsburg, turned the money over to the Pittsburg Police Department; and WHEREAS, the money could possibly provide clues as to the identity of the robbers; and WHEREAS, Jamal's actions are an excellent example for people of all ages and backgrounds; and WHEREAS,Jamal's actions were based upon teachings learned from his mother, school and church; and WHEREAS,Jamal has indicted his great faith in God; and WHEREAS,his mother, Frenchnette,has imbedded in Jamal a strong sense of right and wrong. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California, does hereby commend and honors Jamal Bryant for his honesty and integrity and for setting a strong and positive example for his peers and all people. We also commend Frenchnette Bryant for providing Jamal with very positive and moral leadership. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 27`" day of February, 2001.
