between the County and Local 512 providing )
uniform allowance for certain, single-incumbent )
classifications in the Sheriff's Office. )
THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, in its capacity as
governing Board of the county of Contra Costa and all districts of which it is ex-officio
governing Board, RESOLVES THAT:
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County shall APPROVE the attached Side
Letter of Agreement between Contra Costa County and AFSCME, Local 512.
Pursuant to this Side Letter of Agreement, effective July 1 , 2001 and continuing for
the remainder of the current MOU (until September 30, 2002) the following two (2)
single incumbent classifications will be included with the six (6) classifications already
listed under Section 50.2 — Uniform Allowance, of the MOU:
• CAD/RMS Manager (Class Code PEDG)
• Supervising Forensic Toxicologist (Class Code 6CHA)
All other provisions of the MOU remain unchanged and in full effect.

RE: UNIFORM ALLOWANCE SIDE LETTER—
SHERIFF's NON-SWORN MANAGEMENT UNIT
Dear Mr. Hicks:
Currently, pursuant to Section 50.2 — Uniform Allowance, of the Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU) between the County and AFSCME, Local 512,
employees in the six (6) classifications represented by the Sheriffs Non-Sworn
Management Unit identified below, receive a uniform allowance comparable to
employees represented by the Deputy Sheriffs Association.
• Central Identification Bureau Director
Detention Services Supervisor
• Director of Food Services — Detention Facilities
Director of Support Services — Detention Facilities
• Sheriffs Communication Center Director
• Sheriffs Communications Specialist
Beginning on July 1, 2001 and continuing for the remainder of the MOU (until
September 30, 2002) the following two (2) single-incumbent classifications will
be included with the six (6) classifications already listed under Section 50.2 —
Uniform Allowance, of the MOU:
0 CAD/RMS Manager (Class Code: PEDG)
0 Supervising Forensic Toxicologist (Class Code: 6CHA)
