HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012001 - 2001-171 0IN THE MATTER OF DECLARING RESOLUTION NO. 20OV171 THE MONTH OF MAY, 2001 ANIMAL ABUSEIDOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH WHEREAS, the message of zero tolerance for animal abuse and domestic violence will empower the community to join together to take measures to prevent and halt the cycle of violence that destroys relationships, families and neighborhoods in our communities; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa Animal Welfare Coalition is sponsoring the Cycle of Violence: the People-Animal Connection symposium in conjunction with the Humane Society of the United States'First Strike campaign—a national campaign to raise awareness of the connection between animal abuse and domestic violence; and WHEREAS,the Cycle of Violence: the People-Animal Connection symposium will be held on May 2, 2001 between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. at the Summit Center,Bay Roomy 2530,Arnold Drive, Martinez; and 'WHEREAS, since 1998, the Contra osta ina. Welfare Coalitton has been comprised of a variety of animal WCnn welfare/rescue organizations.
