HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012001 - 2001-108 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming ) March 22, 2001 as Peacemakers Day ) In Contra Costa County ) RESOLUTION NO. 2001/ 108 WHEREAS, our families, communities, nation and world have increasingly suffered from violence in recent times; and WHEREAS, the work of individuals and agencies who promote peace and non-violence is of paramount importance in improving life for all people; and WHEREAS, the Center for Human Development has devoted itself to promoting the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities in Contra Costa County since 1972; and WHEREAS, the Center for Human Development's Conflict Resolution Panels are recognizing those who have,made a significant contribution to promoting peace in our County at their eighth Annual Peacemaker Awards Dinner on March 22, 2 00 1; and WHEREAS, the six recipients of this year's Peacemaker Awards are outstanding representatives ,of a much larger community of committed individuals and groups who strive to promote peaceful communities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors does hereby proclaim March 22, 2001 ass Peacemakers Day in Contra Costa County. - PASSED AND ADOPTED ON March 20, 2001, by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
