HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012000 - 2000-301 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopt this Order on June 5, 2000 by the following vote: AYES: SUPERVISORS GIOIA, UILE{EyA, DESAULNIER, CANCIAMILLA AND GERBER NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE SUBJECT: In the Matter of Implementing) Resolution No 2000/ 301 the Results of a Study of ) Communications Division ) Job Classifications and Work ) THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, in its capacity as governing Board of the County of Contra Costa and all districts of which it is ex- officio governing Board, RESOLVES THAT: WHEREAS, Contra Costa County committed to a study of the organization of work and the classifications within the Communications Division and classifications of Electronic Equipment Technician and Lead Electronic Equipment Technician, among others; and WHEREAS, the County contracted with a consultant (Human Resources Practitioners, Butte Valley, CA) to conduct a classification and compensation study of Communications Division job classes; and WHEREAS, the County requested the consultant to conduct a classification and salary survey of County Communications Division job classes to address market inequities which have an impact on the retention and compensation of employees in these job classes; and WHEREAS, the consultant has now completed the classification and salary survey and issued a report along with a classification structure and salary recommendations for these job classes; and WHEREAS, the County has met its obligation to meet and confer on this matter with all relevant employee organizations; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that effective October 1, 1999 the following actions be taken: Re title the class of Telecommunications Maintenance Manager (Job Code PEDC), to Telecommunications Manager and Reallocate to salary level M50 2434 on the salary schedule. Re-title the class of Senior Communications Equipment Technician (Job Code PETB), to Senior Communications Equipment Specialist and Reallocate to salary level M50 2200 on the salary schedule. Re-title the class of Lead Electronics Equipment Technician (Job Code PETD), to Lead Electronic Systems Specialist and Reallocate to salary level M50 2200 on the salary schedule. Re-title the class of Communications Equipment Technician (Job Code PEWF), to Communications Equipment Specialist and Reallocate to salary level M50 2105 on the salary schedule. Re-title the class of Telecommunications Technician (Job Code PEWG), to Telecommunications Specialist and Reallocate to salary level M50 2105 on the salary schedule. Re-title the class of Electronic Equipment Technician (Job Code PEWE), to Electronic Systems Specialist and Reallocate to salary level M50 2105 on the salary schedule. Establish the class of Senior Telecommunications Infrastructure Specialist, (Job Code PETE) and Allocate to salary level M50 2200 on the salary schedule. Establish the class of Telecommunications Infrastructure Specialist (Job Code PEWK) and Allocate to salary level M50 2105 on the salary schedule. Additionally, Re-class position number 1931 to the Telecommunications Infrastructure Specialist class.
