CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Honoring Rich Clarke )
to Commemorate his Retirement ) RESOLUTION NO. 2000/247
HWEREAS Rich Clarke has served the Mount Diablo Unified School District for 28 years; and
RWEREAS Mr. Clarke started his career as a School Psychologist and then as Administrator,
School Linked Services; and
9WEREAS Rich is commended for his- involvement in community activities, including his
services as a founding board member of the Child Abuse Prevention Council, a founding board
member of the Improv Works, as well as a member of the County Family Preservation Planning
Committee and Contra Costa County Policy Forum Committee; and
915t'EREAS he is credited with the linkage between Mount Diablo Unified School District and
all County departments, e.g., Cal Works, Department of Social Services, Contra Costa County
Health Department and the Service Integration Team; and
HWEREA,j he was the prime mover for the Bay Point Healthy Start Collaborative,
painstakingly bringing together parents, teachers, County programs and community organizations;
and
WHEREAS, he worked skillMly within the School District, with State Healthy Start and with
Health Services staff to establish a renovated space for health services; and
WHEREAS, once this space was created, Rich Clarke worked tirelessly with Health Services and
the School District to create a unique collaborative, the Bay Point Family Health Center, where he
will always be known as the Grandfather;
NOW; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors does hereby
proclaim June 8, 2000 as Rich Clarke Day.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON May 2.3, 2000 by a unanimous vote of the Board members
present.
