HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012000 - 2000-086 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY IN THE MATTER OF COMMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2000/86 Bonita Granlund on her Retirement from the Mental Health Division of Contra Costa Health Services WHEREAS, Bonnie Granlund has been an advocate and service provider for the children of Contra Costa County for more than 30 years, first with the Department of Social Services and the George Miller Centers and since 1976 with the Mental Health Division of Contra Costa Health Services; and WHEREAS, Ms. Granlund was instrumental in creating the first public sector family preservation collaborative in the United States here in Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS, Ms. Granlund is rightfully considered the "mother of children's mental health" in Contra Costa County because of her clear vision and consistent nurturing of what has become the Children's System of Care; and WHEREAS, Ms. Granlund was involved in the creation of Contra Costa County's model early childhood mental health service system that has been the best and most comprehensive such system in the State for many years; and WHEREAS, Ms. Granlund has demonstrated incisive thinking about and been uncompromising in her quest for excellence in developing and delivering services to Contra Costa County's children; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, in recognition of Bonnie Granlund's commitment and service, extends its sincere gratitude and good wishes to her in a most deserved retirement. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 7' day of March, 2000.
