HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011999 - 99-221 0. 94 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on April 27 ,1999by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Gioia, Uilkema, Gerber, DeSaulnier and Canciamilla NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: In the matter of Implementing a Performance RESOLUTION NO. 99/ 221 Pay Plan for the Class of Elections and Registration Manager THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in its capacity as governing Board of the County of Contra Costa and all districts of which it is ex-officio governing Board RESOLVES THAT: A. Sam Range: Effective March 1, 1999,the class of Elections and Registration Manager(ALGB)will be reallocated from Salary Level M50-2146($3882 - $4719)to Salary Level XC-2146 ($3882- $4958). B. Stcp Placement of Incumbent: The incumbents shall be placed on the new salary range at that step which is equal to his/her current salary step. C. Perform n e Review: At the employees' annual anniversary date, the appointing authority may, based upon an evaluation of work performance, award one 2 V2% step for outstanding performance and the achievement of specific preassigned performance-based objectives (herein referred to as outstanding performance) to incumbents in the class of Elections and Registration Manager. This performance step is awarded at the discretion of the appointing authority. At the next annual anniversary date, an additional 2 V2% step for continued outstanding performance and achievement of specific preassigned performance-based objectives maybe awarded. If an employee does not receive outstanding performance pay on his/her annual anniversary date, an extra salary review date may be set by the appointing authority for six (6) months after the annual anniversary date. This date may be set by the appointing authority upon return of the Salary Review Report to the _ Director of Human Resources or at another time prior to the extra review date six (6)months after the annual anniversary date on the first of the month. If an employee was not awarded the outstanding performance step on his/her annual anniversary date, the appointing authority may, based upon an evaluation of work performance and the achievement of specific performance based objectives, award an outstanding pay step effective six (6) months after the annual anniversary date on the first of the month. At the discretion of the appointing authority, effective the first of a calendar month, approval for outstanding performance pay may be rescinded, based upon an evaluation of work performance or the inability to review the incumbent, at any time between annual anniversary dates. Outstanding performance pay in effect on the employee's annual anniversary date is subject to evaluation by the appointing authority and must be affirmatively recommended by the appointing authority to continue. No salary step beyond Step 5 may be awarded for satisfactory performance. Step 6 and 7 are reserved exclusively for outstanding performance pay. No provision of this section shall allow salary placement beyond the uppermost step of the salary schedule/level to which the class is allocated. D. Other Provisions: Except as may be changed or modified by resolution hereafter, all provisions of the Salary Regulations are applicable to this class. cc: County Administrator f hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the County Clerk-Recorder Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
