HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011999 - 1999-624 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this order on December 7, 1999 , by the following vote: AYES: SUPERVISORS GIOIA, UILKEMA, GERBER, DESAULNIER AND CANCIAMILLA NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE SUBJECT: Resolution No. 99 / 624 In the Matter of Amending Resolutions 99/593 and 99/594 Whereas the Board adopted Resolutions 99/593 and 99/594 on November 16, 1999 adjusting compensation for Family and Children's Services Represented and Management Employees in the Community Services Department for calendar year 1999 and certain classifications were inadvertently omitted from these Resolutions: Now therefore, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as Governing Board of the County of Contra Costa, and all districts of which it is the ex-officlo Governing Board Resolves That: 1. Section A of Resolution 99/593 is amended to make the effective date of increase November 1, 1999 and to include the following classifications: Community Services Program Monitor— Project 98S5 Community Services Facilities Maintenance Manager— Project 9KD5 Child Nutrition Division Nutritionist 9JS2 Child Nutrition Food Operations Supervisor 9JS3 Community Services Food Services Manager APD1 Child Development Education Specialist— Project 99S3 2. Section B of Resolution 99/593 is amended to make the effective date of increase November 1, 1999 and to include the following classes: Child Nutrition Food Services Transporter-- Project 98W2 Community Services Building Services Worker—Project 9KV8 Head Start Accounting Assistant— Project 9KV2 Child Nutrition Worker I— Project 98W1 Child Nutrition Worker 11—Project 98G1 Child Nutrition Worker III—Project 98G2 Child Nutrition Food Services Assistant—Project 98V1 Community Services Domestic Services Worker 9JW1 Child Development Accounting Assistant—Project 9JV6 Head Start Teacher—Substitute—Project 9HS9 Child Development Associate Teacher—Substitute— Project 99V4 Child Development Teacher Assistant—Substitute— Project 99V6 Child Development Teacher—Substitute—Project 991-12 3. Section C of Resolution 99/593 is amended to make the effective date of increase November 1, 1999. 4. Section D of Resolution 99/593 is amended as follows: (changes in bold italic) Lump Sum Payment. All persons who occupy. a permanent position in any of the above listed represented and management classifications or who are authorized as limited term employees on July 1, 1999 shall be retroactively compensated back to July 1, 1999. In lieu of a retroactive pay requiring special payroll recomputation back to July 1, 1999, the County will make a lump sum payment to each employee for the period from July 1, 1999 through October 31, 1999, computed as follows: Employee regular pay, overtime pay, and specific other earnings ordinarily computed, as a percentage of base pay will be added together for each applicable pay period to determine the retroactive pay base. This base will be multiplied by the applicable percent (1% for employees listed in Sections A and B and 2% for employees listed in Section C). The payment amount thus computed will be added to the employee's December 10, 1999 paycheck, or otherwise paid as soon as practicable, where it will be listed separately as a LUMP SUM PAYMENT and will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deduction requirements. Any employee believing there is an underpayment resulting from this methodology exceeding $30.00 may contact the Community Services Department and the Auditor's Office will investigate and issue the additional pay, if owed, as soon as possible. All provisions regarding lump sum payment in lieu of retroactive pay shall be applicable to any and all employees who retired or were laid off during the period from July 1, 1999 though October 31, 1999, 5. Resolution 99/594 is amended (1) in the sentence beginning on line nine (9) in the third paragraph to read: "The payment amount thus computed will be added to the employee's December 10. 1999 paycheck, or otherwise paid as soon as practicable, where it will be listed separately as a LUMP SUM PAYMENT and will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deduction requirements "; and (2) to add under the Section entitled Head Start Represented Classillcation the classes of Head Start Accounting Assistant — Project (9KV2) and Head Start Teacher—Substitute— Project (9HS9) ®rig.
