HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011999 - 1999-604 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this order on November_ 16, 1999 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Gioia, Uilkema, DeSaulnier and Canciamilla NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor Gerber ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: In the Matter of Adjusting Compensation for Family and Children's Services Represented and Management Resolution No. 99 /604 Employees in the Community Services Department Commencing July 1, 1999 'WHEREAS the Community Services Director has advised the Office of the County Administrator the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the California Department of Education have provided for a Cost of Living increase to all eligible Family and Children's Services employees effective July 1, 1999. Now therefore, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as Governing Board of the County of Contra Costa, and all districts of which it is the ex-officio Governing Board, RESOLVES THAT: A) Effective December 1, 1999, Family and Children's Services management classifications as listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 10 levels (1.0045 Classification Class Code Family & Children's Services/Head Start Division Director-Project 9MD1 Family & Children's Services Associate Director 9MD2 Family & Children's Services Program Analyst 9MS1 Family & Children's Services Assistant Director 9MD3 Family & Children's Services Nutritionist 9MH3 Family & Children's Services (Disabilities/Mental Health Mgr-Project 9MS2 Family & Children's Services Family Advocacy Coordinator 9MS3 Family & Children's Services Children's Services Mgr-Project 9MH1 Family & Children's Services Site Supervisor I-Project 9MH2 Family & Children's Services Site Supervisor II-Project 9MG1 Family & Children's Services Site Supervisor III-Project 9MF1 Head Start Assistant Director-Project 9KG2 B) Effective December 1, 1999, Family and Children's Services represented classifications will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 10 levels (1.0045%) as shown: Classification Class Code Family & Children's Services Recruitment/Enrollment Svcs Wkr-Project 9MW5 Family & Children's Services Head Teacher-Project 9MH4 Family & Children's Services Home Base Wkr-Project 9MW4 Family & Children's Services Intermediate Clerk-Project 9973 Family & Children's Services Enrollment& Facilities Asst-Project 9MW7 Family & Children's Services Secretary-Project 9MV7 Family & Children's Services Senior Clerk-Project 9KT7 Family & Children's Services Beginning Clerk-Project 9KV9 Family & Children's Services Support Services Assistant-Project 9MW6 Resolution No. .99/604 ` Family & Children's Services Teacher I-Project 9MW 1 Family & Children's Services Teacher II-Project 9MV 1 Family & Children's Services Teacher-Project 9MH5 Family & Children's Services Teacher Assistant-Project 9MW2 Family & Children's Services Infant/Toddler Teacher-Project 9MH6 C) Effective December 1, 1999, Head Start represented classifications as listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 20 levels (2.0191%): Classification Class Code Family & Children's Services Associate Teacher-Project 9MV2 Family & Children's ,Services Infant/Toddler Associate Teacher-Project 9MV3 D) Lump Sum Payment. All persons who occupy a permanent position in any of the above listed represented and management classifications or who are authorized as limited term employees on July 1, 1999, shall be retroactively compensated back to July 1, 1999. In lieu of a retroactive pay requiring special payroll recomputation processing back to July 1, 1999, the County will make a lump sum payment to each employee for the period from July 1, 1999, through November 30, 1999, computed as follows: Employee regular pay, overtime pay, and specific other earnings ordinarily computed as a percentage of base pay will be added together for each applicable pay period to determine the Retro Pay Base (RPB). This base will be multiplied by the designated percent: {%). The payment amount thus computed will be added to the employee's December 10, 1999 paycheck where it will be listed separately as a LUMP SLIM PAYMENT and will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deduction requirements. Any employee believing there is an underpayment resulting from this methodology exceeding $30.00 may contact the Community Services Department and the Auditor's office will investigate and issue the additional pay, if owed, as soon as possible. All provision regarding lump sum payment in lieu of retroactive pay shall be applicable to any and all employees who retired or were laid off during the period from July 1, 1999 through November 30, 1999. i hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown ATTESTED: ta.04J 4A . ..
