SUBJECT: Adopt Resolution for application and use of ) Resolution No. 99/579
Special Cold Weather Funding grant in }
accordance with the State of California,
Department of Housing and Community )
Development, Division of Community Affairs, )
Chapter 793, Statutes of 1999 (AB612). )
WHEREAS The State of California, Department of Housing and Community Development,
Division of Community Affairs, issued a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the
Special Cold Weather Funding (Chapter 793, Statutes of 1999); and
WHEREAS Contra Costa County is a local government agency which is eligible and wishes to
apply for and receive a grant from this funding source;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa
County hereby authorizes the Director of the Health Services Department, or his designee, to
apply for a Special Cold Weather Funding grant in an amount not more than the maximum
amount permitted by the NOFA, and in accordance with the program statute regulations; and
THEREFORE if the grant application authorized by this resolution is approved, the County of
Contra Costa hereby agrees to use the Special Cold Weather Funds grant for eligible activities
in the manner presented in the application as approved by the Department and in accordance
with Chapter 793, Statutes of 1999 (AB612), and the Standard Agreement; and
If the grant application authorized by this resolution is approved, the Health Services
Department Director, or his designee, is authorized to sign the Standard Agreement and any
subsequent amendments with the Department for the purposes of this grant.
