W MP,T,A,S, Lenny Byer has been a resident of the community of Oak fey and of Contra Costa
County for almost his entire life, moving to C4fornia from his native state of of insas when he u4s nine
years o4f in 1942;and
` I EP,M, Lenny attended ele:�mentary school in Byron and high school in Brentwoo,(
graduating f vm Liberty.7ftgh;and
` MEW,W, Lenny and ht's wife Joanne determined that they woutd raise theirfami y in the
community of Oatfey,and
UMEIMAS, Lenny began his service as a volunteerfirefighterfor the Oakfiy Tire rPirtection
I*trict in 1957;and
`i NEP,E 1,S, Lenny has also enjoyed a successfulcareer°as a local businessman, most recent(y
owning and operating ByerAuto Body,and
WJI?EW,M, Lenny also serves his community as a oirector of the Ironhouse Sanitary Oistrict(a
position he has heldfor26years a member of the Oak4y WunicipalAdvisory Council andwiffalso serve as a
Commissioner on the newly restored Oa,( 'Fire Protection Oistrict Tire-Advisory Commissions and
UWE A,S, Lenny has served a long and dedwated career for over 4o years as a volunteer
fireeftghterfor the Oakey Fire ftotection T*trict andwas honoredat a celebratory dinner on January 23,
1999 by the fire titers of the oak e7 Tire District.
