Appoint the following individual to an alternate member position of the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council, for a term to expire in November, 2002. Glen Williams 305 Klamath Street Bay Point, CA 94565 BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Members of the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council are elected by members of the public. However, in the event that a vacancy occurs prior to the end of a member's term, the Board of Supervisors becomes the appointing authority. Mr. Shrivastava is being appointed to fill a vacancy created by Lilya Valladolid (who was elected during the November 1998 election period and whose term would have commenced in December 1998). Ms. Valladolid is now ineligible to serve on the Bay Point Municipal Advisory Council as she has moved out of the Bay Point area. Several vacancies have occurred in the past on the Bay Point MAC between election periods, necessitating recruitment, interviewing and appointment by the Board of Supervisors. As a result, the District V Supervisor has determined that an alternate should be appointed at this time. This alternate would attend all regular meetings. In the event that a future vacancy should occur, this alternate would automatically be ppointed to fill that seat.
