HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011998 - 1998-431 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring QUEEN OFALL ) uATATS'CHURCH on the Occasion of the 125`h ) RESOLUTION NO. 98/431 Anniversary of the Concord Faith Community and the } 50`h Anniversary of i Catholic School ) WHEREAS, in 1867, before Concord came into existence, a mission run by the Dominican order was formed from St. Catherine's, Martinez, called St. Michael's of Pacheco; and WHEREAS, two years later, Salvia Pacheco established a new township called Todos Santos (all saints)which later became Concord; and WHEREAS, four years later, in 1873, the faith community of St. Michael's followed the move to Concord and changed the name to {ween of All Saints; and WHEREAS, in 1923, ween of All Saints became the first independent parish in Concord, and in 1953 moved to its present location on Grant Street; and WHEREAS, fifty years ago, in 1948, Queen of All Saints established a catholic school where presently 300 families are registered; and WHEREAS, on September 20, 1998, the members of Queen of All Saints will be celebrating these two anniversaries with Jubilee Mass and a dinner dance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors QUEEN OF ALL &4IA17S CHURCH on the Occasion of the 125`h Anniversary of the Concord Faith Community and the 50`h Anniversary of its Catholic School.
