THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on May 12, 1998 by the following vote:
AYES: SUPERVISORS UII,KEMA, GERBER, DESAULNIER, CANCIAMIMA and ROGERS
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: NONE
ABSTAIN: NONE RESOLUTION NO. 98 5
SUBJECT. PROCLAIMING MAY 17.23, 1998 NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK
WHEREAS public works' services provided in our community are an integral part of our
citizens' everyday lives; and
WHEREAS the support of an understanding and informed citizenry is vital to the efficient
operation of public works' systems and programs such as water, sewers, streets and
highways, public buildings, solid waste; and
WHEREAS the health, safety, and comfort of this community greatly depend on these
facilities and services; and
WHEREAS the efficiency of the qualified and dedicated personnel who staff public works
departments are materially influenced by the people's attitude and understanding of the
importance of the work they perform; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, does hereby
proclaim May 17-23, 1998 as NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK in Contra Costa County,
and call upon all citizens and civic organizations to acquaint themselves with the problems
involved in providing public works services and to recognize the contributions that public
works officials make every day to our health, safety, and comfort.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of
an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Hoard of
Supervisors on the dates own.
