HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011998 - 1998-081 The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County In the Matter Resolution No. 98/81 SUPPORTING NEGOTIATIONS IN GOOD FAITH BETWEEN BFI AND TEAMSTERS LOCAL 315 WHEREAS, there has been uninterrupted disposal service in our various service areas for over twenty-five years; and WHEREAS, this level of service is largely due to the good labor relations between Teamsters Local 315 and BFI; and WHEREAS, the County is further responsible for ensuring the safe and sanitary disposition of solid waste through our transfer stations and Keller Canyon Landfill, all, under the jurisdiction of BFI; and WHEREAS, the County of Contra Costa has a historical respect for the rights of workers and their ability to negotiate fair and reasonable contracts. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County of Contra Costa calls upon BFI to negotiate with Teamsters Local 315 in good faith and to take all necessary steps to avoid a labor dispute which would ultimately impact upon the health and safety of all residents of Contra Costa County. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 3rd day of March, 1998.
