SUPPORTING NEGOTIATIONS IN
GOOD FAITH BETWEEN BFI AND
TEAMSTERS LOCAL 315
WHEREAS, there has been uninterrupted disposal service in our various service
areas for over twenty-five years; and
WHEREAS, this level of service is largely due to the good labor relations
between Teamsters Local 315 and BFI; and
WHEREAS, the County is further responsible for ensuring the safe and sanitary
disposition of solid waste through our transfer stations and Keller Canyon Landfill, all,
under the jurisdiction of BFI; and
WHEREAS, the County of Contra Costa has a historical respect for the rights of
workers and their ability to negotiate fair and reasonable contracts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County of Contra Costa
calls upon BFI to negotiate with Teamsters Local 315 in good faith and to take all
necessary steps to avoid a labor dispute which would ultimately impact upon the health
and safety of all residents of Contra Costa County.
PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 3rd day of

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered
