WHEREAS, the Town of Pacheco has a grand an glorious historyy
being called the "Queen City of Contra Costa" In the 18601s; antg
WHEREAS, the Town was started from the land grant properties
of Don Salvio Pachecond Geor a Loucks bean ohce named
Loucksville, then PachecovIlle befole being named P9checo; and
WHEREAS, in its history, amongman of its milestones is the
California Grand a former Inn, ana sfo on the trail of the Pony
Express and the Wells Fargo Express; and

W REAS, the Pacheco Grammar S hoot1 initially built in 1859,
and wh c served as the ele entary nsti ute of learning for areas
be and is borde , educating those as old as 19 and 20 because
thre , were no Tfgh schools in the Bay Area outside of San
Francisco; and
WHEREAS, it was visited 141

and to sustain the community for fuure en rations, the Pacheco
Town Council, a private non-profit corpoiat on was established in
1947 to "Presere and Yromotd Pacheco"; and
WBEREAfS, the Pacheco Town Council determined thpt once4in
the community need d a meeting Iace, a lace which signi les
Pacheco's fascinating past, a 4 ace which would serve future
generations; and
WHEREAS, the Pachecq Town Council hps worked diligentl with
Cou1�tYY Redevelopment, using funds from .its tre sur., Count Park
Dedic7�tion feeff, Braddock & Logan, ,TOSCO mittt�ation ee the
Contra Costa Central, Santary Y strAct on behalf of tie G�oun ty
Flood Control District, and community donations to raise its
community center; and
WHEREAS, this exceptional facilit will occupy what was the
