SUBJECT: granting of a Franchise to Operate Pipelines in County Roadways (WO#5128)
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County Resolves that:
1. A written application has been made by Union Oil Company of California (UNOCAL) to the Board
of Supervisors for a franchise to operate one [1] 6-inch products pipeline, and one (1) 12-inch
natural gas pipeline. It is proposed to grant such franchise in the manner provided by law,
substantially in the form and upon the terms and conditions set forth in the attached "Notice of
Sale of Franchise" and Ordinance No. 1827 (as amended by Ordinance No, 79/50 and Ordinance
No. 92/64), and it is in the public interest to give this notice.
2. The Board of Supervisors hereby fixes June 24, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. as hearing date and time.
The Clerk of the Board is hereby authorized and directed to advertise by publishing the attached
"Notice of Sale of Franchise" in the Contra Costa Times, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published in this County, at least once within fifteen [15] days after the passage of
this Resolution.
