HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011997 - 1997-211 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring DAN BOATWRIGHT ) on the Occasion of His Retirement from the ) RESOLUTION NO. 971211 ,Se ate District WHEREAS, since 1966,Dan Boatwright has continuously held an elected office in Contra Costa County, serving first as Mayor and Councilmernber of the City of Concord, then as Assemblyman for the 11th District,followed by State Senator for the Ah District, and WHEREAS, due to term limits, Senator.Boatwright was forced to leave office at the end of 1996 and is now being honored for his retirement from public office; and WHEREAS, specializing in fiscal matters and criminal justice, he chaired both the Assembly and Senate Ways and Means Committees, the Senate Appropriations Committee, the Committee on Business and Professions, the Joint Committee on Prison Construction and Operations, and the Senate Budget Subcommittee on Public Sq ety and General Government, and WHEREAS, Senator Boatwright also chaired the Senate Select Committee on State Procurement and Hrpenditure Practices, and he was a member of the Senate Committees on Criminal Procedure, Budget and Fiscal Review, Election and Reapportionment, Revenue and Taxation, 3Yaansportation, and the Special Committee on Local Government Investments; and �{ WHEREAS, the citizens of Contra Costa County are grateful for Senator Boatwr ight's many contributions to the quality of lie in our county, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors DAN BOAT WRIGHT on the occasion of his retirement from the Ah Senate District and wishes him `I much success and happiness with his ire endeavors.
