HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011997 - 1997-126 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF - CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Declaring April 1997 as ) NATIONAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE ) RESOLU77ON NO. 971126 MONTH in Contra Costa County ) WHEREAS, the Contra Costa Community College District has through the years earned the respect of the community for its valuable role in educational leadership; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa Community College District is known as a rich educational resource in the County .and has reached thousands of students of all ages; and WHEREAS, the doors of the Contra Costa Community College District, through Contra Costa College, Diablo Valley College, Los'Medanos College, and the Center for Higher Education, have always been open to all those seeking personal and professional advancement; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa Community College District, aware of the changing needs of the community, is reaching out and forming important partnerships with businesses and industries to provide important workforce training; and WHEREAS, the District is building upon its rich tradition of excellence to make use of technological innovation as we approach the 21st century; and WHEREAS, the District is committed to the principles of quality in all of its endeavors. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors declares April 1997 as NATIONAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE MONTH in Contra Costa County and encourages the Contra Costa Community College District's continued success as a vital member of our community. .PASSED AND ADOPTED ON March 18, 1997, by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
