HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01011997 - 1997-004 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA IAT TM MA7TER OF: RESOLUMN 97/-4- Recognizing the outstanding ) Volunteer Community Work of ) LerwU Andes- r,Dark nw Koch, ) eummw r+vyo14 mirky NUSM. ) and Mw it strvants: ) WHIG,the Board of Stqxmsors wishes to recognize the outstanding volunteer community work its employees provide to their communities above and beyond the paid work they do for the County, and WB13tXA%the eve Director of the Contra Costa Health flan, Milt Camh; has called to the Board's attention the volunteer community work performed by seven of his employees:Lenell Anderson, Carolyn Carpenter,Darlene Koch, Susanne Penfolct Cindy Shelby,Becky Susin; and Marie Serua rtes, and WHtRMB, in an effort to help needy children and their families, Ms.Anderson, Ms. Carpenter, Ms.Koch, Ms. Penfolcly Ms.Shelby, Ms.Susini and Ms. Servaretes have taken the time to organize a series of fundrrasing events u#wh resulted be 20 needy children who are me7nbers of the Contra Costa Health Plan being able to attend summer cwV t us past year, and WNLRZAS, without the time and energy provided by these seven employees, none of these 20 children would have been able to attend the ten day camping egwnenoe at Mendocino Camp organized by the local Boys&Girls Club, and WNZRX&%these employees not only insured that the camp expense itself was paid, but also made sure that each child had the necessary sleeping bag, camp clothing, wiletries, and other necessities, and VMZRZM,this same group of employees has also been involved in helping families in need at holiday time to erVoy special Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners and have also supported other charitable organizations by getting Contra Costa Health Plan employees to donate to the American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days,Cerebral Palsy's Casual Day,Teens Who Cane Project;and the Junior Achievement Program; ROW, 7NZRZY*RA At 1T RMOLMD that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa RECOGNMES the volunteer community work of Lenell Anderson, Carolyn Carpenter, Darlene Koch, Susanne Penfold,Cindy Steelby,Becky S'uscn;' and Marie Servantes, and COMMENDS them for their dedication to the youth of this County. tl.tZowc..�G Mark DeSaulnier, Chair District 4 ` .fine R rs,Dist ' Gay kema, 2 Donna Gerber, 3 la, District 5 I hereby vertfy that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the Minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the aforesaid date.
