The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES that:
There is filed with this Board and its Clerk a copy of Resolution No. 35-1997
adopted by the Contra Costa County Planning Commission which discusses the Rodeo
Senior Housing General Plan Amendment (County File #GP97-0017).
On Tuesday, December 9, 1997, the Board held a public hearing on said General
Plan Amendment discussed by the Contra Costa County Planning Commission, Resolution
No. 35-1997. Notice of said hearing was duly given in the manner required by law. The
Board at the hearing, called for testimony of all persons interested in this matter.
The Board closed the public hearing and APPROVED the General Plan Amendment
and directed staff to include the Rodeo Senior Housing General Plan Amendment into one
of the consolidated General Plan Amendments for 1997 as allowed by State Planning Law.

The Rodeo Senior Housing project site may support an affordable senior housing complex with a maximum of 50
units. If an affordable senior housing complex is not constructed on this site, a General Plan Amendment to consider
other appropriate uses is required.

RESOLUTION NO. 35-1997
RESOLUTION OF THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE RODEO SENIOR
HOUSING AMENDMENT TO THE COUNTY GENERAL PLAN (#GP97-0017)
WHEREAS, the County Redevelopment Agency requested a general plan amendment for
an approximately one acre site from Commercial to Multiple Family-Very High Special in the
Rodeo area;
WHEREAS, a Negative Declaration of Environmental Significance was posted on the
project;
WHEREAS, staff prepared a report recommending the proposed General Plan Amendment
and circulated it to interested agencies;
WHEREAS, the joint Rodeo Municipal Advisory Council/Rodeo Redevelopment Area
Committee considered the proposal and voted to recommend approval; and
WHEREAS, after notice was lawfully given, a public hearing was scheduled before the
County Planning Commission on Tuesday, November 4,1997, and all persons that wished to
testify were heard and the public hearing was closed.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County Planning
Commission recommends to the Board of Supervisors APPROVAL of the Rodeo Senior Housing
General Plan Amendment as recommended by staff.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all written and graphic material developed for and
pertaining to these proceedings are made part of the record; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Contra Costa County Planning
Commission shall sign and attest the certified copy of this resolution and deliver the same to the
Board of Supervisors, all in accordance with the provisions of State Planning Law.
The instruction by the Contra Costa County Planning Commission to prepare this
resolution was given by motion of the Contra Costa County Planning Commission on Tuesday,
November 4, 1997, by the following vote:
AYES: Commissioners - Terrell, Wong, Clark, Gaddis, Guncheon, Pavlinec
and Hanecak
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
